These days I live for our simple Sunday mornings. It’s one of my favorite parts of the week and our little family tradition keeps us grounded. [Read more…]
There have been several times over the past week that I thought about writing a post, but the words were just not flowing. I have so many ideas on things I want to write about but keeping up with our day-to-day has been enough lately.
The truth is, not too much in our day-to-day is “blog-worthy” and I’ve come to terms with it. I will never be the blogger with the editorialized life or the perfectly edited stories to day, it’s just not me. Our daily life is busy, messy, chaotic, exciting, boring, tiring and we’re just doing the best we can to enjoy the little moments, have some fun and survive. [Read more…]
Today I’m proud to have a guest on my blog, my husband Rich! He’s been inspiring me the last few weeks and I’ve seen him go from completely burnt out to the most energetic and positive minded than I’ve seen him in years. I’ve asked him to come on here and share his story.
Hello everyone! I had better start with why I decided to focus on self-care in the New Year. It really had nothing to actually do with a “New Year’s resolution”. [Read more…]
This has been the fastest and slowest year my life. It seems like I’ve been a Mom forever, but it seems like just yesterday we were heading to the hospital, anxious to meet our little man. Buel turned one last week and I waited to write this update to give myself time to soak it all in. It’s a lot to grasp that my baby is now a toddler!
Late yesterday afternoon, we returned home from Michigan. We had a great weekend. We celebrated one of my childhood best friend’s weddings while my family whisked away Buel for a little Birthday party, we recovered at a Michigan-themed after party the next day, ate chili and apple crisp with my cousins as our kids played and finished off the weekend with brunch at one of our favorite Ann Arbor restaurants with my college best friend and our families. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Buel will be one next week. I’m in disbelief and wish I could freeze time to enjoy my infant a bit longer. Instead I thought I would do a day-in-the-life post to capture our current crazy stage of life.
It’s time again for my monthly parenthood update. Buel is officially eleven months tomorrow and it’s been amazing how much older he seems within the past month. It seems that we’ve gone straight into the toddler phase and we’re partially in disbelief, nervous for what’s to come, exhausted from trying to keep up with him and at the same time having so much fun!
I’m continuing along with my Mom Talk series with a topic that I’ve been getting a lot of questions on- traveling with a baby! Earlier in the month we took both a road trip and Buel’s first flight, so I thought now would be a good time to share some things I’ve learned around the way. [Read more…]
After feeling completely burnt out on Friday, a weekend of no plans was just what I needed. We spent our evenings vegging on the couch, slept over eight hours each night, I stayed in my pajamas all day on Saturday and Sunday we spent the day as a family. I am feeling so much better today!
This leads me to my next topic in my Mom Talk series- Self Care. As important as it is for EVERYONE to take care of themselves, as a Mom it’s becoming increasingly more important. It’s true what they say, you cannot take care of others unless you take care of yourself first.
