It’s time for another Things I’m Loving Lately post! Here are all of the things I’ve been reading, watching, eating, buying, visiting and more this month.
This is What Self Care Really Means
After reading “This is What Self Care Really Means, Because it’s Not All Salt Baths and Chocolate Cake” and a long follow up conversation with my BFF on the topic, I got to feeling. July was a month of chaos and transition for me, so while I was adjusting my new position at work and putting our house back together, I leaned into the feelings of discomfort. And you know what? Now that I’m on the other side I’m glad I did.
Set it Up
On that same vein, I took a sick day on Monday. I wasn’t feeling well and after trying to get ready, I finally just called it quits and spent the day on my couch. I wanted Set it Up on Netflix and it was super cute! It’s been awhile since I watched a Rom Com and I enjoyed it.
Crock Pot Baked Beans
File this under “things I get excited about at 31,” but I was on a search for a good baked bean recipe for summer BBQs and finally found it. Since Fourth of July, I’ve made this recipe three times and it’s been a hit every time!
Last weekend Rich and I took an overnight trip to Milwaukee and we were reminded how much we love that city. It’s a quick trip from the northern suburbs of Chicago, easy to park, has a great food scene and a super casual vibe that we love! We stayed at The Iron Horse Hotel and loved it. We celebrated Rich’s Birthday with dinner at Morel and jazz at Caroline’s. Such a fun night!
All Because Two People Print
I fell in love (no pun intended), with this adorable and honest print from Lindsay Letters. I thought it was the perfect sentiment to hang in our master bathroom and it’s the perfect reminder for our upcoming sixth anniversary. Now I’m just patiently waiting for Rich to hang it up! 🙂
The Perfect Couple
I was having trouble getting into books lately since my brain has been fried at the end of the night. But then, I picked up Elin Hilderbrand’s latest, The Perfect Couple and I finished it in one weekend! The book begins with a wedding canceled after the maid of honor is found dead on the morning of the big day. The mystery begins to come together from multiple perspectives including the island of Nantucket, which brings it all together. If you are looking for a book to lose yourself in, look no further!
Target Kimono Cardigan
I bought this sweater after seeing it on Instagram. What a find! It’s the absolute best transition sweater for the end of Summer to beginning of Fall months. The color is perfect- I plan on wearing it with white jeans this week!
