I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful Fall weather! Last weekend was spent in Michigan, seeing family and friends and celebrating at a dear family friend’s wedding. The weekend took a bit of a turn and Rich took B to urgent care while I spent time at the reception, but thankfully we were all back in good spirits for the trip home. All in all it was a nice weekend, but it definitely was a good reminder of what a roller coaster parenthood can be.
I cannot believe that this month my baby will turn two! The past two years have been a whirlwind of learning experiences and it’s amazing to me that I have two years of motherhood under my belt. One of my new mom friends reached out to me last week and I was reminded of this. So today I thought I would gather up all of my experiences for all the new moms, soon-to-be moms and those of us just looking to reminisce!
The Infant Stage
Parenting during the infant stage was all about finding our routines. First up was sharing how we established our bedtime routine. I also wrote about how we transitioned to real food and it was such a fun stage! Once we got brave, we took our first trip and I wrote a recap on what we learned while traveling with a baby.
The Toddler Stage
Year two was all about accepting how motherhood changed me. From there, I was able to accept how being a Mom changed my marriage, my friendships and my career. In all honestly, these transitions did not seem too hard while I was going through them. In my experience, motherhood is natural as long as you remember to trust your gut. That’s something I’m having to constantly remind myself!
Next up, we’re onto the “terrible twos” and believe me, we’re already starting to feel it. Currently we’re preparing for a daycare transition, attempting to make teeth brushing regular and getting ready to switch to a toddler bed! One thing’s for sure, in life change is constant and parenthood proves it.
