These Are The Moments

There have been several times over the past week that I thought about writing a post, but the words were just not flowing. I have so many ideas on things I want to write about but keeping up with our day-to-day has been enough lately.

The truth is, not too much in our day-to-day is “blog-worthy” and I’ve come to terms with it. I will never be the blogger with the editorialized life or the perfectly edited stories to day, it’s just not me. Our daily life is busy, messy, chaotic, exciting, boring, tiring and we’re just doing the best we can to enjoy the little moments, have some fun and survive.ย

This past weekend Rich and I took turns “sleeping in,” which allowed each of us to take one morning slowly. This lead to an early morning Sesame Street session with me and B. We cuddled, he ate his breakfast and I slowly drank my morning coffee as he ran around only taking breaks to dance.

We had a lot of “cheese” moments since Buel’s current obsession is smiling for the camera. It’s almost the only thing that gets him to stand still these days!

Later on Saturday morning while Rich was at work we just had to get out of the house, so we grabbed some pastries and enjoyed them in the park. It was chilly but peaceful and it was one of those moments where things seemed to slow down while I savored my time with my little man. We hit up the library to warm up and it was the perfect little date.

We’ve ventured out a lot the past few weeks for meals out, church and adventures. Last weekend we took a trip to the children’s museum, went out for sushi and even went to brunch after mass. To celebrate St. Patrick’s day last week we grabbed some corned beef sandwiches and my boys had some major twinning moments while watching basketball.

So here’s to hoping that putting myself back out there gets me going again, because these are things I want to remember and these are the things I want to share. I hope you had a great weekend and start to the week!

  1. life with kids! always an adventure. as they get older, going out gets way easier, especially when you can finally ditch the diaper bag! omg let me tell you the second K was toilet trained, i turfed that diaper genie in 2 seconds LOL

  2. Love it! Your little guy is getting so grown up. Stop and savor those moments. Next thing you know, in the blink of an eye, he’ll be 34 and married!

  3. Oh my goodness, Buel is getting so big! He’s such a cutie! I’m glad you guys are doing well ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. What a nice weekend! I know what you mean about slowing down and trying to enjoy the moments, it’s hard! I love that your son smiles for the camera, that is SO cute!

  5. I would much rather read about real life than a perfect editorialized story any day ๐Ÿ™‚ Your little guy is such a cutie, I love the picture of him watching basketball with your husband!

  6. Oh my goodness that picture of them watching the basketball games! I love pics of daddy and son – they are my favorite! And please tell me how you got him to smile for the camera!! Mine just runs away!

    • I’ve taught him to say cheese! Lol and actually I think because they take pictures at school maybe too.

  7. Buel is looking more and more like a little KID and I love it!!! I’m the same way lately..the words have been tough to get flowing unless it’s a post I had previously planned. Most of our day to day stuff ends up on Instagram and it’s just so much easier.

    • Totally. Glad I’m not alone in that. It’s weird with insta and snapchat, I feel like blogging has become less relevant and it’s hard. I do not ever plan on having the “new” style of blog, so trying to decide what I do want!
