Another “work from home” Friday, another coffee shop morning! We currently have three work crews at our house, so instead of my usual day of work on my couch, I’ve switched up the location a bit. I’ll admit last week I was annoyed I could not work at home, but I’m embracing it.
The general theme of this week was embracing my current season of life. Things are hectic, but it’s all good things. After last week’s post, I realized how much all of the things that are creating chaos are my choice and that immediately made me feel better. This week felt a lot more calm mentally and while I’m still feeling exhausted, it’s a happy exhausted.
Anyway, I’m back with my weekly accountability post! With Buel’s first Birthday on the horizon, I’m on a mission to lose the last bit of my baby weight. For the next six weeks I commit to holding myself accountable- so please help with the effort!
I’m bringing back the format I used after I first had Buel, because quite frankly I’ve been missing the most important part of the equation. Self Care is so important, so I want to share what I’m doing to take care of myself. And after the comments on Monday’s post, I know we’re all together on that!
Workouts: This week I was on a roll with workouts!
Here’s how things shaped up:
Sunday- 50 minute walk outside with my friend Christina
Monday- 20 minute Tabata workout on the bike at the gym
Tuesday- Strength with my Trainer- Legs, Back and Core
Wednesday- 15 minutes on the Stairmaster at the gym (better than nothing!)
Thursday- Strength by myself- Arms
Friday- I did some core work this morning, but other than that I’m taking off (I’m tired and Fridays are my day to catch up on life so they are filled to the brim)
Saturday- Most likely I’ll take an afternoon walk
Meals: In all honestly, I struggled a bit with eating too much sugar this week and I think this was primarily due to being tired. Overall though I’m glad we cooked at home every night this week and I was grateful that I did some food prep on Sunday and also, thank god for my slow cooker! My focus this weekend is getting rest!
Here’s how my meal plan shaped out this week:
Sunday- Slow Cooker Balsamic Pork Roast with Broccoli and Cheese Twice Baked Potatoes (both recipes were new to us, so easy and both a hit!)
Monday- Chicken Burrito Bowls (I prepped this on Sunday and they were so good!)
Tuesday- Leftovers (Rich had pork and I had leftovers from a work lunch that day)
Wednesday- One-Pot Spaghetti Squash and Meat Sauce (another new Slow Cooker recipe that we will definitely be making again)
Friday- Slow Cooker Short Ribs with Gorgonzola Sauce and Broccolini (making this for a date night at home, this recipe is the BEST and it’s so easy to make)
Saturday- Out to our friends’ Martin and Becki’s for a little double family date with our babies
Self Care: I decided this week to keep track of how I took care myself every day (in addition to my workout time) to hold myself accountable
Sunday- At night I sat and read alone for an hour, it was glorious!
Monday- I got a manicure and pedicure at lunch. I was super impressed that the salon did both at the same time in 55 minutes and I felt so put together and good afterwards.
Tuesday- I ate WAY too much sugar but I held back from beating myself up about it and moved on.
Wednesday- I took a bath after Buel went to bed and went to bed early.
Thursday- I got out of work a little early due to a team outing so I used the time to get my eyebrows done. Then I sat on the couch and caught up on my Blog Roll while Rich put Buel to bed.
Friday- Today is my sanity day. I use my work from home day to get get organized and map out week. It’s honestly my most productive day for both work and home!
Saturday- Tomorrow my friend Denise and I are taking our boys to the local Children’s Museum. I’m looking forward to some Mom chat. In the afternoon I’m hoping to spend a small amount of time going through my clothes and nailing down my Fall capsule wardrobe since it makes my life a lot easier, we shall see!
