I’m stopping in to share some of recent reads. I’ve chosen some good ones lately!
I read The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins in one sitting while I was visiting my Dad in Michigan. This book is getting a lot of hype for a reason, I could not put it down! I would highly recommend for a weekend of decompressing. You can’t beat getting completely lost in a good book!
I had high hopes for Hal Elrod’s The Miracle Morning after listening to his interview on The Lively Show. I have to admit, I did not love it. I found it a bit repetitive and preachy. However, I did like the takeaways but I got all of those little nuggets from listening to him speak.
I seem to love books that have two plots that intertwine and Sarah’s Key popped up in my Goodreads recommendations. I’m glad I picked it up since I really loved the historical fiction meets modern day story.
I’m currently reading The Shadow Year for this month’s Book Club and it has definitely kept my interest. Some parts are a bit predictable, but I can’t seem to figure out how it’ll end so I can’t stop reading this story about a woman who’s going through a rough time who mysteriously gets willed an abandoned cottage in the middle of nowhere and sets to renovate it. Once again, it’s two plots intertwined slowly connected throughout the book, which has become my favorite genre.
