Good Morning from San Francisco!
I’m here for work but have been able to fit in some fun and good food during my free time. On the work front, I’m heading out to Palo Alto for meetings and a big pitch today. We also attended a Women of the Channel event yesterday. It was my first tech conference, and the highlight for me was seeing the lead researcher of Lean In, Marianne Cooper speak. So inspiring!
A few coworkers and I woke up at the crack of dawn (or a little before) and walked pier side. There’s nothing better than exploring by foot while traveling in my opinion, you get to see some new sights and fit in a workout at the same time. At the midway point of our walk, we got to see (and hear!) the sea lions!
Seeing the sunrise over the Golden Gate Bridge was worth waking up early for and after that I was ready to start my day.
Of course, no trip is complete without checking out some local food spots. We’re staying right across the street from the Ferry Building and on Tuesday afternoon we walked over to check out the sites. We’ve been back a few times and surprisingly I have not ordered this Avocado Toast from Frog Hollow Farm Café again. This was my first bite to eat in San Francisco and it did not disappoint!
Yesterday evening after our conference we were exhausted but got a second wind that lead us out to explore. Our original plan was to pick up food and bring it back to our hotel room, but instead we wandered down the pier to Boudin Bakery. It was totally worth it! Their clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl is what dreams are made of. At least for me!
Last night ended on a sweet note at Swensen’s Ice Cream. We took the street car to get there and checked that off the list. What else should I explore next?
