The winter blues have hit me hard and we’ve gotten to the point of the season where the days drag on. I’m on a mission today to combat these feelings by focusing on the present to spend a few minutes focusing on what I’m grateful for today. It’s been awhile since I did a Take Time Tuesday post and I hope this serves as a reminder for you to take a moment to be grateful for all the amazing things in your life, both big and small.
Today I’m grateful for the perspective that I’ve gained over the past few years. I’m learned to slow down, take breaks and recharge my batteries before I get burnt out. Sunday I spent an entire day in my pajamas getting as much rest as possible before the work week began. It was amazing and I couldn’t have felt better going into the week.
I’m grateful for movement and that I’ve learned to love exercise again. I truly look forward to my time in the gym lately because it keeps me energized, less stressed and makes me sleep straight through the night. I’m also really loving my new FitBit. A full review is in the works, but it has definitely kept me moving throughout the day.
I’m grateful for my organizational skills that thought ahead to prep pulled pork in the crock pot yesterday for dinner. After a productive day of work and a good workout, it was awesome to come home to dinner waiting for me. And, it warmed me up!
I’m also grateful for the balance I’ve created in my life. I think this is partially due to my change of perspective, but also because I’ve clearly defined my priorities and got rid of a lot of the waste in my life. I’m in a good groove when it comes to working out, meals, work/life balance, social life and rest. It’s a good thing!
Oh, and I’m grateful for Thin Mints. I finally got mine last night and it was the perfect end to my Monday. The little things really do make life worthwhile!
Things are really good lately and I definitely needed a moment today to step back and think about all of the good things in my life. Last year at this time, I was recovering from my surgery, interviewing while at a job I knew wasn’t going to last and stressed to the max. These days my life is a much different story. I feel much lighter, relaxed and extremely grateful!
What are you grateful for this week?
