This weekend was low key, productive and fun which was exactly what I needed. My goal was to relax a lot, catch up on sleep and a few good workouts and I accomplished that!
Friday I kicked off the weekend with a good workout, then we had session with Penny’s trainer and then ate Chinese and got sucked into The Mind of Chef on Netflix. Saturday we had a lazy morning and I made a nice breakfast, took Penny on a long walk, stocked up on groceries, got a manicure and then we met up with friends to watch the Michigan vs. Notre Game game.
In a few minutes I’m heading to yoga and then we’re having some friends over to watch the Bear’s Home Opener. I’m trying a few new recipes and I’m excited to relax some more with friends, drink a few mimosas and end the weekend on a fun note!
But first, time to recap this past week and plan for the week ahead!
After weekend of exactly what I needed, I’m excited to have a great week. My biggest focus this week is to make smart choices at lunch as a I have FOUR business lunches this week! When I survive, I’ll write a post on how I make my choices. But for now, that’s my focus this week.
I feel good about my workouts, but I want to add more cardio this week and do a few HIIT sessions in addition to my weights routine.
Here’s how this week turned out:
Sunday-45 minute walk with my Dad, his new puppy Blue, Rich and Penny
Monday-Off, drove home from Michigan
Tuesday-60 minute walk with Penny
Wednesday-75 minutes of walking with Penny & Rich (two walks) and Strength Training
Thursday-60 minute walk with Penny
Friday-30 minute walk with Penny, Strength Trianing
Saturday-90 minute walk with Penny
Plan for this week:
My goal for the week is to continue with my walking and strength training, make it to yoga at least once and add a few HIIT sessions like this one.
This week my goal is to cook at home as much as possible. As I mentioned I have four lunches at work so I want to cook at home every night.
Here’s this week’s meal plan:
Fruit and nuts or peanut butter or cheese, Edamame, trail mix
Sunday-BLTAs and a side salad
Monday-Greek Yogurt Pasta and a side salad
Tuesday-Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Sweet Potato Fries
Wednesday-Herbed Salmon Burgers with Lemon Tartar Sauce and Cool Cucumber Salad
Thursday-Basil Cauliflower Pizza
Friday-Grilled Rosemary Lamb Chops with Rice Pilaf and Grilled Asparagus
Saturday-Seeing Zac Brown Band at Wrigley Field Rooftops!
None! I made the peach crisp yesterday for breakfast so that’s all I needed to prep!
How was your weekend? What’s on your meal plan for the week? Any workout goals?
