Well, the work week flew by and the wedding is over and done with. It was a blast and as always the best part was spending time with friends. Things this week are not slowing down as I have a work conference to go to tomorrow, so onward we go!
Now it’s time for my weekly refresh…
Again this week my goal is to focus on workouts! I struggled this past week on fitting them in, which I think it just part of the adjustment period to my new job. One of these days things work themselves out but until then I’m be patient and not beating myself up over it.
I think I did my best despite a busy work week and traveling this weekend, but I can tell that I did not work out enough because I was stressed and tired every evening! One thing I’m focusing on with my personal training is walking, so I’m starting tracking that this week.
Here’s how this week turned out:
Sunday- My first personal training session, mainly just tests and such
Monday-30 minute walk with Penny in the morning, 60 minute yoga class during lunch at work
Tuesday-45 minute walk with Penny in the morning
Wednesday-30 minute walk with Penny in the morning, Fitness Blender HIIT Workout at night
Thursday-20 minute walk with Penny in the morning
Friday-Off, drove to Michigan
Saturday-30 minute Tabata workout on the bike in the hotel gym
Goals for the week: Five 30 minute walks with Penny, Two 1 hour walks with Penny, Two strength sessions, One yoga class and Venus de Miles on Saturday! (I am doing the 28 mile distance)
Compared to the last few weeks this week seems like it’ll be a lighter when it comes to eating. Then again, one thing I’m balancing has been food at work. There is a ton of it and I’m involved in a lot of meetings where there are meals served. In the past, I would’ve restricted myself with this and then it would backfire. These days, I’m doing my best to practice moderation.
Here’s this week’s meal plan:
Monday, Tuesday and Friday I have lunches at work, other than that it’ll be sandwiches and leftovers
Sunday-Salmon Burgers with Lemon Tartar Sauce (we have two in our freezer) and Zucchini (never made these last week and we need something quick for when we get back)
Monday-Dinner at my work conference
Tuesday-Crock Pot Maple Dijon Pork Chops, Super Rice and Green Beans
Wednesday-Asian Turkey Meatballs with Brown Rice and Zucchini
Thursday-Coconut Curry Shrimp with Brown Rice and Snow Peas
Friday-Date Night at Home, recipe TBD! This is our first free Friday in several weeks and we’re going to have a relaxing night and try a new recipe. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to do this and I’m excited!
Saturday-Hopefully something after Venus, Rich is going camping
