My mind is everywhere today, as it has been for the past month since I got laid off. It’s been such a whirlwind of staying busy, thinking about my next step and a roller coaster of emotions. I always love Cassie‘s “Currently” posts, so today I thought I would it a try to share my random thoughts!
Thinking… about what I may have forgotten to pack for my trip to Disney World tomorrow to celebrate my friend Stephanie’s Bachelorette! Ever since I packed only a carry on for our Europe trip, I love packing light. But I’m nervous I’m forgetting something!
Feeling… peaceful and confident. This month has been a bit of a roller-coaster of emotions, but I feel good about my current situation.
Watching… Catfish, yes it’s one of my guilty pleasure and I got sucked in.
I’m excited to celebrate this girl all weekend!
Excited… to have some time with my girlfriends this weekend! I’ll be at Disney with a few of my former teammates and it’s always so nice to be reunited!
Missing… a routine! As I said, my head feels like it’s everywhere but I guess that’s not a bad thing right now. It’s been really nice to get outside, away from the computer and go with the flow lately, but I’m ready to have a routine soon.
Reading… It Starts with Food. I have a few friends who have recently done Whole30 and I am so intrigued. The book is really interesting and I am contemplating doing a round of Whole30 in the near future. (anyone complete it!?)
Wondering… a lot! I swear, I’m constantly going through possible scenarios of the next step in my career. I’m interviewing with a few places right now, and I’m waiting for a “click” to know what my best next step will be.
Working… on scheduling a few guest posts for the rest of the week. Stay tuned to learn more about what to wear to your first trail race and the basics of tasting wine! (not in the same post, but that would be a really fun day!)
Stressed… about nothing, really! I feel optimistic about finding a job and am excited about my trip tomorrow!
Flashback to my first open water swim, it needs to warm up so I can get back out there!
Proud… that I finished my first brick workout this morning. After spin class, I ran a mile on the treadmill at race pace which felt surprisingly good. My goal is to increase this every week until race day.
Wanting… a good stretch! After this morning’s workout and last night’s Body Pump class, I am sore!
Wishing… that I would have a little bit more time with my husband before I leave tomorrow. He’s been working overtime, so we haven’t seen much of each other lately. Good thing we had our staycation date over the weekend!
Eating… for dinner we’re having Cheeseburger Salads! They are our go-to lately and we make them about every week. So satisfying, especially on days where I workout twice and Rich has practice.
Drinking… water, always. I have a giant cup with a straw that I bring with me wherever I go in the house, my attempt to drink as much water as I do when I sit at a desk all day. I also picked up a six pack of Abita‘s Strawberry Ale over the weekend, which I really enjoy! (since I’m a sucker for fruit beers)
Loving… my workout groove. Honestly, this is the best possible thing to come out of my layoff situation, since it’s exactly what I needed. After struggling through my injury, it feels good to feel like an athlete again and I have no doubt I’ll stick with it when I return to my regular routine.
