Cinq-Mars: Paris

Tonight, we were in the mood for a fun, relaxed place to hang out and have some appetizers and wine. Cinq-Mars was the perfect spot!

The decor was hip and cute and reminded us of some of our favorite newer places in Chicago.

We began our night with a glass of wine. We asked for something local and fresh and this wine suggested by our waitress was just what we wanted. We even asked for a recommendation of a place to buy a bottle to bring home at the end of our meal! Now, we’re on a hunt. :)

Since we had a filling lunch, we were in the mood for light appetizers and ordered the Hard Boiled eggs with homemade Mayonnaise and Countryside Terraine. Both were rich, filling and satisfying.

Of course, we left room for dessert and split the creme brûlée made with Burbon vanilla and Brioche with Maple Syrup. Both were great, but the Creme Brûlée was the best I’ve ever had. Now, I’m on a mission to create it at home.

  2. That’s France for ya! The food will spoil you for anything you’ve ever tasted here. We have some great treats, when and where you can get them, but food is just so much better there.

  3. Looks so delish! I am majorly craving a trip to Paris now. One of my favorite things was just sitting at cafes and restaurants without a care in the world. Enjoy!
