On Saturday, I co-hosted the Chicago Runner Bloggers first beer run with Anne from Anne Really Blogs!
It was a blast.
We met up at Anne’s and headed out for a three mile fun run through the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago. I ran with Anne and Kim. The miles flew by and I felt like we barely had any time to chat!

We arrived at Half Acre an hour before their Saturday tour to wait in line for our spot on the tour. Good thing we did, because the 60 person limit was reached very quickly! It was cold, but we came prepared in neon running clothing and even BYOB-ed our own bagels and bananas to carbo-load between beers.

After being shushed a few times on the tour, we walked across the street to Bad Apple for some burgers and more beer.
I ordered the Edmund Fig-gerald which was with made with Edmund Fitzgerald porter, fig & bacon relish, goat cheese and smoked onion. I had firecracker fries on the side which made my nose run. Such a delicious meal with great company!
After lunch, we went back across the street to buy a few growlers to bring home. I took a quick cat nap on the drive home (Rich drove) and then we spent the night on the couch watching bad TV. It was a perfect Saturday!
I am loving reading all of these recaps – us getting shushed at Half Acre still cracks me up
Also, I think that last picture of me and Bob might need to replace my wedding picture as my profile pic on FB, it’s such a good shot
Thanks so much for coming up with this idea and doing most of the legwork (running pun – ha!) to get everything put together for us on Saturday, Bob and I both had such a great time!
Thank you for lending your apartment out! We are definitely going to do this again soon!
