Physical Therapy, Stress, Snacks and My Race Schedule

Happy Thursday! I’m loving this week so far-it’s flying by! Here are a few random things worth sharing this week.

Last night, I had my first Physical Therapy appointment for my protruding disc. It was a little painful but in a good way and I’m hopeful that it will help take my pain and numbness away for good. I have four exercises that I will do daily and plan on doing them diligently. I get to use my foam roller! :)

Tuesday, I found out that I’ve been named a Sweat Pink Ambassador! I’m very honored and excited to be a part of the SPA community!

Yesterday morning, I also had a stress breakthrough! Remember the coffee incident? (here you go if you forgot) Well, it happened again yesterday but I stayed calm, did not drop any f-bombs and did not wake my husband up. Instead, I took a breath, took a step back, cleaned up my mess and moved on with my morning. It’s amazing how letting go of the things you cannot control helps. Who would’ve thought!?

In addition to the hummus and peanut butter I made over the weekend (recipes here!), I made these amazing date balls from Cassie’s recipe. They have been such a great go-to snack this week!

Finally, I finished up my 2013 “race” schedule by signing up for the Color Run!

6/9- Grand Rapids Sprint Triathlon
6/16- Chicago Color Run 5K
7/18- Chicago Espirit de She 10k
8/3- Milwaukee Rugged Maniac 5K
8/10- Chicago ZOOMA Half Marathon
11/28- Turkey Trot TBD

As you can see, I’m not taking my “racing” very seriously this year. My main goals? No pressure, have fun, stay in shape and complete my first sprint triathlon! I may add one or two fun races as the year progresses. (Adding “fun races” to the list of things I never thought I would say in my lifetime)

How’s your week going? Anything happen that’s worth mentioning? Any fun races I’m missing out on?
