Winter Blues 30 Minute Run Playlist

This Winter, I haven’t been running as much as years past for a few reasons. First of all, I don’t like running in the dark alone. Second of all, I really hate the treadmill. I have been trying to run at least once a week to keep myself running, so I’ve found ways to distract myself. The best way? Music!

I like my running music like I like everything else in life. Very random, kind of unpredictable and a little weird. (ok wait, I think I just described my husband)

Today I thought I would share a playlist I made myself earlier this week to keep me entertained while I slug along on the dreadmill. I hope you enjoy!

Now, please share your latest, greatest and favorite running songs! I need some more music to add to my playlist before I get bored and unmotivated by this cold and snowy weather.

Also, stay tuned later today for a recap of my January goals!

  1. Hmmm, there’s a few on here that I’ve never heard of and will have to check out – my playlist needs so much work!

One that I’m really loving lately is “The Glow” by Kopecky Family Band (who I saw live last summer – they put on such a fun show!). The chorus includes “Keep on running,” which is exactly what I need to hear.

  2. This is great! I only addition would be “die young” by Ke$ha, because i love her!

  3. Yes, it stinks running in the dark. My favorite song of the moment is “The Mother We Share” by Chvrches. http://tinyurl.com/ad6tulu . I keep hearing it in my head. I guess the Germans call that an “Ear Worm!”

  4. You just described my winter running routine to a T! I hate running in the dark alone and dread the treadmill. I’ve been trying to suck it up and run at least once or twice a week because I’m signed up for a 10-miler in May. Your playlist is awesome – love that you go from Marley to Aldean and everywhere in between. Happy running!

    • Thanks! It keeps things entertaining. I luckily do not have any races planned (yet) until a sprint triathlon in June. So I should be able to train outdoors for that! (thank goodness!!!)

  5. Love this! I am always looking for new running songs. I just did a post about all my favorite running songs lately. Right now, I really love “We found Love” by Rihanna. It just gets me so pumped to run, especially when I’m stuck on the dreadmill.

  6. I love this! I have been yearning for some new tunes…just what I needed! And the lumineers- oh so good :)
