WIAW Saturday Edition

As always, thanks to Jenn for the link up! Feel better!

WIAW Braise

Saturday was a pretty perfect day! I spent all day relaxing and a perfect date night with my husband. I knew that I had a big dinner to look forward to, so I kept things light all day. For breakfast (top right), I had some steel cut oats made with almond milk, raisins, a sprinkle of cinnamon and maple syrup. Around 3:00, I made a few dippy eggs to keep myself satisfied until dinner. I dipped some whole wheat naan in them and it definitely hit the spot. After the eggs, I wanted something sweet so I had an apple as a snack. Then, we headed north for a date night in Milwaukee! Before our reservations, we grabbed some coffee at Alterra. Then, we had a great date at Braise Local Food. Check out yesterday’s post for details!

  1. Glad you and your hubby had a wonderful date on Saturday <3

  2. Your steel cut oats look fantastic! Did you use a specific recipe?

    • Not really, I usually wing it but I always make my oats the same. I cook them in a pan then add a little almond milk at the end to thicken them up. Then I add add some fruit (raisins, dried cranberries, frozen berries, a banana), some nuts (sliced almonds, pecans, walnuts or nut butter), a sprinkle of cinnamon, splash of vanilla and a few teaspoons of sweetener. (honey or maple syrup) It always works and is always different depending on what I have on hand!
