It’s been a long time since I did a Take Time Tuesday post and I thought that now would be the perfect time. Here are a few things I’m grateful for today!
We ended our weekend on the couch eating Chicken Tikka Marsala while watching the Golden Globes. (I used this recipe and it was awesome!) It was the perfect way to end the weekend and nice to have some downtime hanging with Rich.
Last night, I kicked off my week with back to back classes at the gym. I did sculpt class first and then my friend Denise met me for Zumba. It was my first Zumba class and I loved it! I think one key to my workout success lately has been variety. It’s kept things fun!
Over the weekend, I picked up a few new placemats and dishes from World Market to use in my recipe posts. I can’t wait to add some pizazz to my next recipe!
Per Sierra’s recommendation, I started reading The Magic and am really enjoying it. I loved The Secret, but I am loving the new book even more. The Secret focuses on a positive attitude and the law of attraction, while The Magic focuses on using gratitude to improve your quality of life. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I’m a huge believer in enjoying the small things in life and this book is a great reminder of things to do every day to be more grateful.
Finally, this weekend I found a new love for Larabars! I distinctly remember not liking them in college because they weren’t sweet enough for me. Things have definitely changed since then!
Today is day nine of the 100 Days of Real Food 10 Day Pledge for me. I’m happy to report that I’m no longer having any sugar cravings and the benefits are exactly the same as last time. My skin is the clearest it has ever been and as an added benefit, I need much less sleep than usual. Moving forward, I want to make clean eating a lifestyle with occasional splurges thrown in. I’m excited that I’ve finally found something that works for me!
Now, please do me a favor and take a few minutes to think of things you’re grateful for this week. I would love to hear about them and spread the gratefulness all around. So, let’s hear it!

I loveeeee your zumba outfit!! although i am grateful that i will never ever ever have to dance in public. And you should be too. I have moves like elaine from seinfeld, haha.
Thanks! They were scarves provided by the teacher. I think they would be annoyingly fun to wear during a race!
And, I love Elaine moves! I have no shame in dancing. I’m definitely not good, but I have no shame whatsoever!
I loved watching the GG… Until I fell asleep
Everyone [per usual] looked stunning! What I’d give to dress up in one of those gowns someday… I wasn’t a fan of Larabars the first few times that I tried them either but the banana bread is absolutely AWESOME!
I’ll have to try that one! My favorite is the PB&J one!
#1 I am thankful for my supportive wife that pushes metro try new things. #2 I am thankful for my family. #3 I am thankful for my job. # 4 I am thankful for friends. # 5 I am thankful for my health. #7 I am thankful for my talents. #8 I am thankful for chocolate chip cookies, sometimes it’s the little things. #9 I am thankful for having found a church we are comfortable with. #10 I am thankful for the abundance of available activities surrounding us in our community.
Katie, my mom and I started doing Zumba in December twice a week and we really like it! I definitely am pretty embarrassingly bad at dancing but I like the variety of getting to dance and calling it a workout!
I am grateful for having a job I love, an amazing family, and great friends!
It IS so embarrassingly fun! Do you like our scarf skirts? They added to the hilarity!!!
I love the scarf skirts! Our teacher usually wears one but we aren’t lucky enough to have our own!
You should suggest it! Ours brings a bag. Hilarious!
