What I Ate Wednesday #2

Today, I’m participating in my second What I Ate Wednesday hosted by Jenn at Peas and Crayons!

This week for Christmas, I tried several new-to-me recipes! I love trying new recipes, but everyday life gets in the way most of time, so I really enjoyed being able to try so many recipes that I have saved up the past few months. Although these we all definitely “splurge” recipes, they were perfect for the holidays. To maintain my healthy balance, I’ve been really focusing on making sure to fit in workouts throughout this holiday season.

Christmas Eve Brunch (top left): Buttermilk Biscuits and Mushroom Gravy from A Beautiful Mess with Shredded Brussels Sprouts Salad with Fried Goat Cheese from Heather Christo Cooks, to eat while relaxing before mass!

Christmas Eve Cocktails (top right): Cherry Whiskey Smash from How Sweet Eats to drink while cooking our traditional Wigilia dinner!

Christmas Day Brunch (bottom left): Easy Cheese Danish from the Adventures of Kitchen Girl to eat (alongside Irish coffees) while opening our stockings!

Christmas Day Appetizers (bottom right): Prepping Holiday Bacon Appetizers from the Pioneer Woman to take to share with my in-laws for Christmas dinner!

The verdict!? These were all winner recipes and will definitely be added to my traditional Christmas recipe repertoire! It’s really hard to pick my favorite of the week because they all turned out perfectly. I will say that I’m looking forward to returning to “normal” eating as the holiday season comes to a close. I’ve enjoyed all these holiday splurges, but I’m feeling a bit fluffy and would like that feeling to change. Tis the season!
